Sunday I was feeling especially adventurous so I decided to do some cooking and baking. Rob was a good sport and opened wide every time I came at him with a wooden spoon saying "try this."
First off I made a pasta salad. I have been craving something light and fresh and this fit the bill. I chopped up some green and red bell peppers to give it some crunch and texture and it came out very refreshing!
Next up were banana nut muffins. I never have time for breakfast so have been drinking those Carnation instant breakfasts, or eating Captain Crunch at work. I didn't want to buy muffins from the store, so I thought what the heck, I'll give it a go. They took less then half an hour to make and I have been enjoying them in the morning ever since. Add some margerine to them when warm and presto! A delicious breakfast (or anytime) treat!
Lastly I took a stab at the classic, chocolate chip cookies. In the past the most experimental I have gotten was buying the ready made cookie dough from the store, schalping it onto a cookie sheet and throwing them in the oven. Not surprisingly, I would still burn the shit out of them. This time I decided to make them from scratch and take my time. I added in some walnuts for a little crunch and I'm glad I did, it makes a difference. My only complaint is that they are a little crumbly when you bite into them, but you actually forget about that because the cookie itself is yummers.

Tonight I am trying my hand at pot roast. I chopped up carrots, celery, onions and potatoes last night and stored them in the fridge so it would be a snap to throw together today. I'll let you know how it turns out!
