Yesterday was Labor Day and we had a BBQ over at our house. It was so hot and humid, but we had a fun day with some friends and family. Dom was beyond excited to hang out with his cousins Alyssa, Boo,Jake and Ray Ray. We broke out the kiddie pool and they had blast playing in the water and splashing around. I made pasta salad, coleslaw and cupcakes (all came out good) and Rob manned the grill.
The craziest thing was that we realized Dom is old enough to play inside while we’re outside. He hung out in the living room with the kids for part of the day and watched Shrek (surprise) and Toy Story while we were outside with our guests. It was kind of a trip to not have to be right on top of him, making sure he’s ok and safe. A trip but also a relief. He’s getting more independent by the day. This makes me happy but also kind of sad. My baby is growing up right before my eyes. Hopefully it won't happen too quickly.
