2 Year Check Up

Dom had his 2 year checkup today and he’s doing great, of course. Rob got off work a little early to meet us over there. He’s such an awesome Dad. He has always made a point of being at all Dom’s well checks. I try to schedule the last appointment of the day, and Rob always makes it there. He has such a strong commitment to being the best Dad he can be, and that not effects only Dom in a positive way, but me too. It’s a good feeling to have us both there and I think it’s good for Dom to see that too. It sends a subtle but strong message about doing things as a family and that we are both there for him.

While we hung out in the waiting room, Dom browsed some books and played in the boat. He looks so grown up in this photo, his little kneeall propped up. Such a handsome kid!

The doctor told us Dom is very advanced in his vocabulary for his age. We always thought so, but we’re his parents. Don’t all parents feel that their kid is especially smart and brilliant? The best part was that he didn’t need any shots. Yay! I was kind of dreading that part because he’s older now, and much more aware of what’s going on. But luckily, the Doc said he doesn’t need another well check for a whole year. Whoop!
